Parking

Free parking is available in spaces along the front of the Museum. There is a paid parking lot directly across from VMT’s front entrance which is free on Saturdays and Sundays.

Walking/ Biking

The Museum is an easy walk or ride from the Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center and other downtown Roanoke attractions. Follow Norfolk Southern’s mainline tracks and enjoy the David R. and Susan S. Goode Railwalk, with interactive exhibits that tell of Roanoke’s rail heritage. The Railwalk connects to the Roanoke Valley Greenways. A bike rack is available in front of the Museum.

Passenger Rail

Amtrak station is located 1 block East of the museum. Schedule and tickets are available online from Amtrak.

Air

The Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport offers more than 50 scheduled flights daily, providing nonstop service from Roanoke to nine major cities. The major airlines that fly out of Roanoke Regional Airport daily include US Airways, United Airlines and Delta. Allegiant Air also provides full sized jets and frequent service to Florida.
