Operation Safe and Secure Dedication of Squad One Oren Fire Truck

March 23 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Join us on March 23, 2019 from 10am-5pm for Operation Safe and Secure! The Oren fire truck was built in Roanoke, VA and used by the Roanoke City Fire Department. It is the only one of its kind, making it an extra special exhibit here at the museum! A dedication ceremony will take place at 1pm but fun will be had all day! Join us for food, face painting, pictures, activities and more!

The Virginia Museum of Transportation will celebrate the sixty-ninth anniversary of the delivery date of the 611, one of fourteen Class ‘J’ passenger locomotives built for the Norfolk & Western Railway between 1941 and 1950 and the last one in existence today.
