Get your team together and sign up now for the 2017 Big Lick Train Tug!
A fun, innovative new event with a playful celebration of Roanoke’s history! Big Lick Entertainment presents the Big Lick Train Tug on Saturday October 7th at the Virginia Museum of Transportation sponsored by American National Bank benefiting The Presbyterian Community Center.
Teams will enroll to “tug” the train, competing for distance as well as fundraising efforts. The Competition will have THREE categories.
1st Category “Steam Team”: 12 people – $1,000.00 – team must raise minimum of $1,000.00.
2nd category “Steam Team Pro”: 6 people – $500.00 – must raise minimum of $500.
3rd category “611 SOLO Pro”: 1 person – $250.00 – must raise minimum of $250.
Each team receives 2 pulls, your best pull is your placement. The competition will be for farthest pull in 20 seconds. Tie breakers will compete in 10 seconds. Member of each 1st place team gets to pull the whistle!
You do not need to have all your team members confirmed to sign up, however they do need to be confirmed by October 7th. Teams will designate a Team Captain to sign up on our official fundraising page. We will also have a competition on teams that go above and beyond their fundraising efforts!
We will have great trophies for placing teams! All team members will receive official t-shirt, beverages (adult included!) and snacks! We will also feature live music, food trucks, local craft beer and activities and fun for kids with free admission to watch the competition enjoy the fun!
