Passenger Car Illinois Terminal "President One" Business Car

DESCRIPTION
- Manufacturer: Pullman Company
- Open platform observation lounge cars of many interior configurations were in use before the turn of the century, until they were replaced by more modern cars in the late 1930s.
- This type of car was usually the last on the train. On the rear grill, there was often a large electric sign, which boldly displayed the train's name.
President One
- Manufactured in 1916

- The Illinois Terminal Railroad bought the car in August 1976 for $14,000, and redesigned it for use by the railroad's president and other officials on business trips.
- The President One was an apartment on wheels and features an open observation platform, a
living/conference area, three bedrooms, a bath with a shower, a dining room, quarters for a steward, as well as a kitchen and pantry.
- Donated to the Museum by the Norfolk & Western Railway Co.
