Automobiles - 1936 Cadillac Fleetwood Coupe
DESCRIPTION
- Manufacturer: General Motors.
- This basic Cadillac sported a number of innovations. A narrower radiator shell supported the new louver-style "Convex Vee" grill. The front fenders and cowl vent were both new, and the model included the first hydraulic brakes on a Cadillac.
- To accommodate additional passengers, this car featured a rumble seat behind the interior passenger compartment. The concept was adapted from the seating for servants on some carriages and was sometimes referred to as a "mother-in-law seat." Rumble seats waned in popularity in the mid-1930s when cars became too fast for comfort—or safety!
